Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.
This is the fifth government-run medical college to come up in state after Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital inaugurated by CM Naveen on September 4 earlier this month. The other three medical colleges functioning are SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur and Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla.
With the establishment of this medical facility, which has 100 MBBS seats, the total number of seats in all state-run medical colleges has touched 850 in Odisha.
Among others Health minister Pratap Jena and a number of BJD MLAs were present on the occasion.
