While the ongoing Cottonfab exhibition is offering shoppers plenty of attires for the upcoming festivals, the Silk Fab Exhibition-cum-Sale, inaugurated on Friday at a hotel in the city, has brought a splendid collection of hand block printed saris, baluchuri saris, Karnataka silk saris, chanderi silk, Banarasi, jamdani and kota saris among others.
The saris are available in stunning prints on pure silk. These prints include floral and other nature-inspired patterns as well as geometrical shapes and abstract images.
The unique collections offered at the silk expo that are attracting buyers, include Garwal, Dharamavaram and Pochampalli silks of Andhra Pradesh; Chintamani, Kasauti works and Karnataka silks from Karnataka; Muga silk collections of Assam, Chanderi and Maheswari of Madhya Pradesh, Madhubani of Bihar, tribal work and Kosa silk of Chhattisgarh, Pathani and Puna saris of Maharashtra, Bomaki and Sambalpuri saris of the host state, Bandhej of Rajasthan, Gatkora and patola of Gujarat, Jamdani and Benarasi silk of Uttar Pradesh, Baluchari and Kantha of Bengal, Kosa silk of Jharkhand and so on.
Apart from saris, the exhibition offers salwar suits, stoles, kurtis, jackets and many more clothing items. Both young and old can find a wide range of choices at the exhibition.
