Bhubaneswar: In order to tackle heavy rush during Dussehra festival and to ensure trouble-free celebrations, security arrangement has been tightened in the twin cities.
Police commissioner Y. B. Khurania said 54 platoons of police would be deployed in Cuttack and 25 platoons in Bhubaneswar.
In addition, personnel of Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and Quick Action Team (QAT) would also be deployed.
To keep a close watch on anti-social elements, CCTV cameras have been installed at strategic points, including at the puja pandals. Surveillance is also being maintained in crowded market places, hotels, restaurants and malls.
While extra vigil would be maintained near venues with decoration using gold and silver, plainclothes police personnel will keep a watch in and around the pandals for snatchers and pickpockets.
