Bhubaneswar: The annual terracotta fair Mruttika-2017, organised by Directorate of Handicrafts & Cottage Industries began at the Exhibition Ground here on October 12 and will continue till October 17.
Over 150 artisans from across the state are taking part in the exhibition, where clay artworks in the form of bells, candle stands, wall hangings, lampshades, ornament boxes and containers in different shapes and sizes are put on display.
Kiosks at the exhibition display figurines of mythological and tribal deities in various sizes. Miniatures of animals, vases, pots and wind chimes are also available at reasonable prices.
Besides, with the Diwali festivities closing in, the exhibition has become a must for shoppers collecting designer diyas available in shapes of turtles, butterflies and flowers and other lighting materials. Apart from this, incense stick holders, lamps, small containers for tea lights are also available.
Hairclips, earrings and necklaces made of terracotta and beads are also on display.
