Bhubaneswar: Two children’s festivals are all set to take place in the capital city on the occasion of Children’s Day.
The three-day annual festival ‘Surabhi’ organised by School and Mass Education Department will start with a cycle rally from Forest Park to Unit-IX Boys’ High School, from November 14.
The festival will witness workshops, art and painting, clay modelling, balloon art, origami and puppet, dance and magic shows.
Anjali, the annual children’s festival hosted by Swabhiman and the state disability information and resource centre, will kick-off at Adivasi Ground in Bhubaneswar on Children’s Day.
This year, the festival is based on the theme of superheroes will be held from November 14 to November 18. More than 1,000 children, including special kids, will take part in the festival.
The festival also aims to promote “zero waste” theme this year. A workshop on the same will also be hosted for the children.
In addition, the panchayati raj department ready to organise a event wherein Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for the first time will address school students on television on the occasion of Children’s Day.
The 45-minute televised speech by the Chief Minister will be aired on Doordarshan from 11.15 am to 12 noon.
