Bhubaneswar: The annual National Tribal Crafts Mela kicked-off at the tribal museum here on Friday.
Over 81 tribal artisans from all 19 scheduled tribes across the country are displaying their artefacts at the fair.
Besides, a number of craftsmen from various ethnic communities of the state are demonstrating the process of creating jewellery out of beads made by the Bonda community of Malkangiri district and the dongria kondh shawls.
Various types of ethnic crafts made of paddy, bamboo, dhokra (non-ferrous metal casting), along with tribal jewellery, paintings, cane and bamboo products, apart from paintings and cups and trays with tribal motifs inscribed on them are on display.
Figures of animals, birds, puppets, vases made of paper mache are also on display.
The fair will continue till November 30, and is opened from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm every day.
