A thick blanket of fog shrouded the capital city on Saturday affecting road and rail traffic during the morning hours.
People were seen driving their vehicles slowly and turning their headlights on.
Similarly train services in the East Coast Railway’s jurisdiction were also affected because of dense fog.
According to MeT officials the foggy condition would continue at one or two places in south Odisha for the next 48 years.
The Met officials have also predicted no significant fluctuations in the night temperature over the next 48 hours. The capital recorded a minimum temperature of 19 degree Celsius on Saturday. Phulbani turned out to be the coldest place in the State with the mercury settling at 9.5°C on Saturday.
