Gallery on Rare Ivory Items in Odisha State Museum


Bhubaneswar: A gallery dedicated to rare ivory items that features several decorative items craved on ivory, recovered from different places of the state, was inaugurated at the Odisha State Museum in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of the 60th foundation day of the museum on Friday.

The gallery has around 50 artifacts, including elephant teeth and craft items dating around the 18th century.

A separate gallery on 200th anniversary celebrations of the Paika Rebellion of Odisha is another centre of attraction and the museum.

The Museum is also conducting a seven-day exhibition on Pattachitra and floral impressions.
