All India Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides Jamborette Held in Bhubaneswar


Bhubaneswar: The six day All India Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides Jamborette organised by the East Coast Railways in Bhubaneswar was being held at Sports Complex of Mancheswar Carriage Repair Workshop here.

The event witnessed participation of around 2500 railway Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers from 16 zonal railways of the country.

Volunteers of Scouts and Guides from different parts of India exchanged views on their culture, tradition, language, food habits and folklore from their regions.

During the six day event, volunteers participated in a number of competitions including drill display that was based on pyramids, physical exercise, firefighting, lathi play, yoga, malkhambs, gymnastics, aerobics and juggling. Route march, poster making, road painting was also conducted. Besides, they displayed their knowledge on traditional cooking style and disaster preparedness and first aid.

Apart from this, they took part in the cultural events wearing traditional costumes of their area.

To create awareness on peace and integrity in the society, the volunteers also formed a human chain from Nalco square to Acharya Vihar square.
