Bhubaneswar: Showcasing the distinct classical music traditions of India, the three-day annual Rajarani music festival kicked off on the sprawling green lawns of the Rajarani temple complex here on Thursday.
Being hosted by the Orissa Tourism in association with OTDC and OSNA, the event features both the veterans and the promising vocalists and instrumentalists.
In the inaugural evening Odia musicians Ramesh Chandra Das played violin while Srinibas Satapathy enthralled the audience with his flute in the first ‘Jugalbandi’ performance.
The last performance of the inaugural evening was Carnatic Vocal by Sanjay Subhramanyan.
Matruprasad Das and Himansu Sekhar Swain’s Odissi vocal and Viku Vnayakram’s Ghattam entertained the gathering in the second evening of the festival.
The last performance of the second evening was instrumental music (Ghattam) by Viku Vinayakram.
The violin performance of Ganesh and Kumaresh and Hindustani vocal by Sanjiv Abhyankar drew a lot of attention on the concluding day of the festival.
