An Artist Giving Finishing Touch to an Idol of Goddess Saraswati inside a Workshop in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday

Bhubaneswar: With Saraswati Puja round the corner, preparations are on in full swing in the city. Artists in the city are busy giving final touch to the idols of the goddess of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom and learning for the celebration.

People from every walk of life come together and celebrate the festivals in a grand way. Saraswati is worshipped in all educational institutions and offices.

This year Saraswati Puja falls on January 22, Monday.

The day also marks the procurement of wood for the Rath Yatra chariots in Puri.

Though the carpenters would commence building it only after seeking Aagyan mala, the garland of permission from Lord Jagannath on Akshaya Tritiya, they start collecting the logs that are kept on the road at Ratha Khala near the temple from this day.
