Bhubaneswar: A NITI Aayog sponsored two-day International Seminar on “Institutional Excellence for Economic Growth” organised at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, began here on January 28, 2018.
The international seminar endeavoured to bring in academicians, practitioners, policy makers, researchers, etc. under one platform to probe and analyse the role of institutional efficiency in economic growth.
On the inaugural day of the seminar, a panel discussion on the topic “Role of Physical & Digital Infrastructure in Economic Development” was organised. Mr. Ashwini Rath, Founder Director & CEO, Batoi Systems Private Limited, discussed on how digital infrastructure can remove geographical barrier, enable people to have access to right information at the right time. The goal of effective decision making and handling post-truth situations were evaluated against the need for establishing a better society with due respect to individuality and liberty.
Among other panelists, Prof. Dr. A.A. Azeez, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, discussed about the economic development of India vis-a-vis China. Dr. Santosh Kumar Kamila, CPMG, Odisha Circle, highlighted how Indian Postal services is transforming in different region through improved online infrastructure in the line of the Digital India campaign.
The seminar witnessed participation of scholars from India and abroad.
