Bhubaneswar: Preparation for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, conducted by the Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) starting from February 23 has reached its final stages.
While the authorities are gearing up to ensure smooth conduction of the examination, anxious students are busy with revisions and doubt clearing sessions.
Around 5.9 lakh students will appear in the HSC examinations in the state.
Armed forces have been deployed at all nodal centres to keep a round-the-clock vigil of the rooms, where the question papers and other confidential materials have been kept.
The question papers will be despatched to concerned centres a day before the examination.
A three-tier squad system has also been put in place by district education officials to check incidents of malpractices during the examination. The board would strictly deal with malpractice and initiate disciplinary action against invigilators and centre superintendents if students at their respective centres were found cheating.
