Over 6 Lakh Students Take on Odisha HSC Exams amidst Tight Security


Bhubaneswar: Over 6 lakh students of the state are appearing for the matriculation (HSC) examination that began today. The exam will continue till March 08.

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has adopted new measures to ensure a smooth exam this year without glitches.

In order to prevent copying and malpractices, three-tier squads have been constituted. 58 flying squads and 37 central squads have been constituted, informed sources.

Teachers have been also included in these squads.

The examinations are being conducted at 2,818 centres across the state.

The students reported at the examination centers by 8 AM.

The question papers were distributed at 8.45 AM. The examination began at 9 AM.

Security has been tightened at the examination centers at the Maoist hit areas of Koraput, Malkangiri, Bolangir, Raygada, Gajpati, Kandhamal, Boudh and Deogarh.
