Students Take on CBSE X, XII Exams amidst Tight Security

Students at a Centre Appearing Plus-II CBSE Examinations on Thursday

Bhubaneswar: Over 1.44 lakh students from Odisha appeared for the Class X and XII board exams, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), that started today across the country.

Bhubaneswar region covers three states- Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. As per sources, class X students of 927 schools will appear for the examination in 230 centres. Class XII candidates from 675 schools will be writing for the test in 219 centres.

From the Bhubaneswar region, as many as 77,700 for the Class X and 66,300 students for the class XII are appearing the exams.

The examination began from 10.30 am and continued till 1.30 pm.

While the Class X examination will end on April 4, the Class XII examination will conclude on April 12.

For smooth conduct of the examinations, CBSE has engaged one superintendent for each centre and deputy superintendents have been engaged in some centres, who have been instructed to conduct a thorough checking of the students at the main gate of the centre, before they are allowed to enter the examination hall.
