Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of devotees thronged Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar to offer prayers to Lord Ram on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami on Sunday.
Special arrangements were made by the officials keeping in view the large turnout of devotees.
The devotees gripped with devotional fervour not only visited temples, but also sang devotional songs such as musical recitals of Ram Charita Manas and Ram Katha Amrita.
Elaborate arrangements have also been made by Commissionerate Police as large turnout of devotees is also anticipated during evening hours today.
Apart from the capital city, all the Ram shrines across the state drew large crowds with devotees seen standing in queues to offer their prayers to Lord Ram, Lakshman and Devi Sita.
Falling on the ninth day of the Hindu lunar year, Ram Navami is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Ram, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
