Rain Lashes Parts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Several areas in the state, including the capital city, witnessed heavy rain, gusty winds and thunderstorms in the second half of the day on Sunday.

Several places went without power and many trees were uprooted. The rain however, brought relief to the people as districts in the interiors of Odisha have had already started recording temperatures of over 40°C.

On Sunday, Sonepur recorded (41.2°C) the highest temperature of the state, followed by Bolangir (39.2°C) and Bhawanipatna (39°C).
