Bhubaneswar: The entrance exam for admission into the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) began at as many as 155 centres including Odisha today and will conclude tomorrow.
Over two lakh candidates are appearing for the online examination (computer based test) for admission into MBBS courses at AIIMS New Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar, Rishikesh, Raipur, Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) and Nagpur (Maharashtra) that is being conducted in two shifts per day (9 am to 12:30 pm and 3 pm to 6:30 pm today.
In Odisha, the examination is being conducted in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Balasore, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Rourkela and Sambalpur.
Nearly 800 available seats in the above mentioned institutes in the country.
The candidates had started to make a beeline before the examination centres in Odisha from 7 am today.
The results of the examination are expected to be announced in June.
While the first phase counselling for admission will be held between July 3 and July 6, the second and third phase counselling will be conducted on August 2 and September 4 respectively.
