Monsoon Reaches Odisha 2 Days in Advance, IMD Forecasts Heavy Rain

Bhubaneswar: As informed by the Regional Meteorological Department, Bhubaneswar, the South West monsoon has reached Odisha two days ahead of its scheduled date.

As per the forecast by the IMD, a low-pressure system is likely form over the northern Bay of Bengal over the next 24 hours and has predicted heavy rainfall across parts of Bengal, north Odisha, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya during the weekend.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also said squally weather with wind speeds up to 60 kmph is very likely along the coasts of Bengal and Odisha. Fishermen have been cautioned against venturing into the sea in view of the rough conditions.
