‘Tumari Smrutire’ in Memory of Sanjukta Panigrahi


Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of the ongoing celebration of the 73rd birth anniversary of noted Odissi exponent Sanjukta Panigrahi, a cultural programme titled “Tumari smrutire” (in your memory), began at Rabindra Mandap, here on Friday.

The Sanjukta and Raghunath Panigrahi Cultural Heritage Foundation that has as its patrons some of the most celebrated names from the dance and music fraternity such as Pandit Ravi Shankar, Birju Maharaj, Bal Muralikrishna among others, organised the programme.

On the occasion, Kathak recital by Emily Ghosh enthralled the audience with her unique movements and rhythmic twirls in the air.

The performance by accomplished Odissi dancer Sonali Mohapatra was also appreciated by Odissi aficionados and the audience.
