Bhubaneswar: Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour across Odisha today.
In the capital city, apart from performing puja at temples, people irrespective of age and gender are seen thronging to the puja pandals and paying obeisance to Lord Ganesha.
The festival is typically held on the 4th day of the waxing moon fortnight (Sukla pakshya) in the month of Bhadraba.
Students wearing colourful outfits and carrying ‘prasad’ thronged schools, colleges and other educational institutions to worship the lord.
Preschoolers are often taught to write on this day.
Meanwhile, the residents of Western Odisha have geared up for the Nuakhai celebration on Saturday.
