Rahman Directs SRK for Hockey World Cup Song

Bhubaneswar: Ace musician AR Rahman directed Shah Rukh Khan for the first time as they created magic to bring alive the official Hockey World Cup (HWC) video, “Jai Hind Hind, Jai India”. The song “Jai Hind Hind, Jai India” is composed by Rahman and the lyrics is penned by Gulzar.

The song and the video are slated to release at the end of the month when the Team India returns from the Asian Champions Trophy in Muscat.

SRK last week took to twitter extending his support and pledging his heartbeat for Indian Hockey saying, “Mera dil hockey ke liye bahot tez dhadakta hai.” Cheering the Men in Blue to get the cup back home, SRK in his tweet also termed hockey, “the pride of India” and urged everyone to get behind the Team India and support to the game.

With SRK and Rahman combining forces to inspire one and all, it is certain that the sport will attract a larger fan base, as India takes on rest of the world at Bhubaneswar in November.

The Hockey World Cup opening ceremony will be held on November 27 at the Kalinga Stadium where Khan and Rahman perform live.

The HWC is scheduled to begin from November 28 to December 16 at the stadium. A total of 16 nations will take part in the tournament spanning over 19 days. A total of 36 matches will be played. The opening match will be played between Belgium and Canada on November 28. Host India will also take on South Africa on the inaugural day of the tournament. India will play its next two pool matches against Belgium and Canada on December 2 and 8 respectively.
