Bhubaneswar: Bali Yatra, the historic fair of Cuttack will be held for 11 days this year instead of 7 days. The annual festival will be organised on the banks of river Mahanadi at Gadagadia ghat, from November 22 and will continue till December 2.
In view of the upcoming Hockey World Cup, a four-day “City Festival” will be added in this years’ Bali Yatra that will feature new events like boat race, horse race and camel race. Apart from that a “Star Night” will be organised where people can enjoy live performance of Ollywood actors. Besides, bike stunts will also be showcased.
As per sources, as many as 950 stalls and 300 additional stalls of ORMAS will be put up in the fair this year. The stalls have everything from pottery, ethnic, jewellery, costly metals, handicraft, stone carving, wood carving, pattachitra, appliqué and terracotta and local spices to house hold products and electronic gadgets.
The fair also provides several attractions for children, and food stalls selling Odia delicacies (Cuttacki Dahibara Aloo dum, Thunka puri, Barafa pan, Gupchup, etc.)
