Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the citywide WiFi service, ‘Bhubaneswar Me WiFi’ at the State Secretariat here on Monday.
Under the service, each user is provided with 30 minutes of free internet service subjected to a usage limit of 250 MB data at a speed up to 2 Mbps per day. After consumption of the free data, users can opt fo different top-up plans for extra data.
In the first phase, hotspots have been installed at 100 locations. The free internet would be available from the KIIT area to the Governor House, Acharya Vihar to AG Square, Sishu Bhawan to Vani Vihar and Nalco Square to AG Square.
The State government is planning to extend the services to Cuttack, Sambalpur, Berhampur, Rourkela and Puri.
