Tour De Kalinga: Cycling Expedition with a Cause from December 08


Bhubaneswar: Tour De Kalinga, the longest community cycling tour in the country covering 1300 kilometers in 13 days will commence from Rabindra Mandap, here on December 08.

During the tour, a team of 30 cyclists will travel several places on one route till Koraput and will return to Bhubaneswar in a different route.

The cyclists will form five teams before starting the expedition. Each team will have a captain to guide the cyclists. They will start their journey from Bhubaneswar and will touch places like Konark, Puri, Satapada, Berhampur.

The troupe will return from Koraput to Bhubaneswar via Tumudibandha, Belaghara, Phulbani, Nayagarh and Khurda.

During the tour, the cyclists will engage with community and local leaders to create awareness and encourage for a better society and get rid of social issues the public are embedded with such as the tobacco consumption, plastic usage, child mortality, sanitation and healthcare, corruption eradication etc.

The teams will have doctors, vigilance officers, army officer, lawyers, social activists and persons of other professions.

It is noteworthy to mention that it is the fourth tour of the Tour De Kalinga. Earlier, it had organised tours from Puri to Konark, Bhubaneswar to New Delhi and Konark to Koraput.
