Bhubaneswar: The three-day annual national music festival of the city-based premiere cultural forum Bhubaneswar Music Circle (BMC) began at Rabindra Mandap, here on Monday.
The inaugural evening started with sitar recital by Odisha’s Rabi Shankar Pradhan. He was accompanied by Shri Kulamani Sahoo on Tabla. This was followed by Hindustani vocal recital by Vidushi Subhra Guha. She was accompanied by Shri Ashoke Mukherjee on Tabla and Smt. Rupashree Bhattacharya on Harmonium.
The second evening commenced with Hindustani vocal rendition by Dr. Priya Kanungo, a disciple of the renowned brothers Pandit Raajan-Sajan Mishra. This was followed by Carnatic violin duet by Chennai-based Akkarai sisters Vidushi Subhalakshmi and Vidushi Sornalatha.
The final evening of the festival featured Odissi vocalist Bharati Jena. The last performance of the concluding evening was Hindustani vocal recital by Pandit Kaivalyakumar.
