Bhubaneswar: The 29th edition of the week-long state-level children’s festival called PECUC Sisu Mela that was inaugurated at the amphitheatre in the Ekamra Haat near Ram Mandir on November 14, concluded on Tuesday.
The event was organised by People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), a socio-cultural organization that has been working for the cause of children since its inception in 1990.
During the mela, school children, child labourers, street children, deprived children from various sections, differently abled children from across the state and the country took part in a whole lot of competitive events including fancy dress, fine art, music and singing, elocution competition etc. Besides, song drama, children assembly and discussion on the topics concerning to the children were also held.
On the concluding day of the mela, awards were presented to both adult and children, for their outstanding contribution in different fields and to the winners of the different events.
The annual event serves as a platform for the children from across the country to display their hidden talents.
