Flamingos Seen at Chilika Lake

Bhubaneswar: Migratory birds have started arriving at India’s largest brackish water lagoon, Chilika Lake for their winter sojourn.

Species such as wigeon, pintail and gadwall have started flocking to their winter home.

Every year, lakhs of migratory birds from Siberia, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan visit the lake and return in March.

Like the previous years, patrolling have been intensified in the lake and awareness has been created around the lake on bird conservation.
