Patha Utsav Returns to Bhubaneswar


Bhubaneswar: Adding more colours to the ongoing extravaganza of World Cup Hockey, the “Patha Utsav”, the State capital’s weekly cultural street festival, is back again.

Thousands of people from all walks of life thronged Janpath from Master Canteen Square to Ram Mandir to partake in Patha Utsav which was held from 6 am to 10 am.

Various activities including walking, cycling, physical exercise, sporting events and cultural programmes were held. Tourists from abroad, who are in the city for the Hockey World Cup, also participated and enjoyed the street hockey played by the youngsters near Ram Mandir.

The two stages on each end of Janpath, Master Canteen Square and Ram Mandir Square, also had performances by city-based groups. The singers and DJs also promoted the FEST through their performances and songs.

Apart from this, some voluntary organisations organised special activities including games, painting, quiz and cultural programmes for children.

There were also health camps by AYUSH department, Yoga sessions and Zumba by the Stay Fit. An exhibition of khadi products was also seen on the path.

The Patha Utsav will next be held on December 9 and 16 from 7 am onwards.
