Bhubaneswar: Despite cold weather, hundreds of residents including hockey players gathered on the streets of Janpath for the second “Patha Utsav”, the state capital’s weekly cultural street festival on Sunday.
This edition of the Patha Utsav was themed around celebrating Khadi and Cottage Industries. The Khadi and Cottage Industries Corporation showcased their rich heritage including live traditional spinning, traditional weaving, machine spinning, potter’s wheel, the traditional method of oil pressing (Ghani), apiculture and tie & dye methods etc.
Prince Dance Group was the centre of attraction. Besides, songs by Rosalin Sahu also enertained the visitors.
A beautiful street mural created by artists from Nirmala Kruti Bikas Trust (NKBT) having the flags of 16 nations participating in the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup – 2018 was also displayed through a beautiful ‘rangoli’. In addition, they also painted a ‘rangoli’ portrait of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Apart from practicing hockey on the streets, female hockey players also displayed their dancing skills at the Utsav.
