Bhubaneswar: A National Unified Football Tournament for Women kicked off at Kalinga Stadium here on Monday. The tournament is being organised by Special Olympics Bharat-Odisha (SOB-Odisha).
On the inaugural day of the tournament, Odisha registered a win over Punjab by 5-0 goals.
In other matches of the day, West Bengal registered two wins by defeating Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand by 5-0 and 6-0 respectively. In another league match, Jharkhand beat Karnataka by 3-0.
Unified Teams from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, Punjab, West Bengal, Jharkhand and host Odisha are participating in the tournament.
The tournament was inaugurated by Olympian Anuradha Biswal, who unfurled the games flag and took the guard of honour in the march past.
