Bhubaneswar: Folk dance and music performances by artistes from across the state are attracting local connoisseurs as the 9th edition of the three-day state-level folk dance and music festival began at Utkal Mandap on Tuesday.
More than 2,000 folk artists from all the 30 districts of the state will be performing during the festival.
Folk dances of the state such as koria from Koraput, baja sal from Bhawanipatna, Sambalpuri folk dance and Mayurbhanj chhau among others are being showcased at the festival.
The festival is being organised by Culture Department since 2011 to explore and promote the dying folk dance and music and also to provide livelihood support to the folk artists.
The festival will conclude on February 21, 2019.
