Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday flagged off a train carrying senior citizens on a pilgrimage at Bhubaneswar railway station.

The special train will carry senior citizens from various parts of the state to Kolkata in West Bengal and Kamakhya in Assam before returning to Odisha.

The State Government has made special arrangements for the senior citizens under the scheme Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatri Yojana. The scheme, an initiative of the state Tourism Department, is meant for the senior citizens to give them a chance in the lifetime to visit the important pilgrimage centres of the country.
