Bhubaneswar: Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR), a national based organisation working for the slum dwellers in Bhubaneswar pleaded for “#Balance for Batter” in the society observing the International Women’s Day (IWD)on 8th of March 2019 at Budha Mandir, Bhubaneswar. Around 100 participants coming cross different parts of the city gathered to observe the day.
The celebration was started with the welcome address of the guests and participants by Ms. Mamata Singh of CFAR. Ms. Jyoshna Sahu, CFAR sharing the objective of the programme said, “Today’s celebration is to respect all those women champions who have brought significant change in their life, in their families and in the society as a whole by establishing and promoting gender justice norms in their action.” The objective sharing was followed by brief Introduction on the works of CFAR by Mr. Jugal Nayak.
On the occasion, participants were also clicked photos as a sign to support the theme i.e. Balance on gender roles and foster the message across platforms through different media.
Ms. Rosalin Pattnaik of CFAR facilitated the whole programme and at the end of the programme, on behalf of CFAR Team, Ms. Pragnya Rath extended vote of thanks to all the guests, participants and the CFAR team members including Sukant Sahoo, Ms. Jayashree Das, Ms. Meghna Sahoo for their coordinated efforts in organising the event.
