Bhubaneswar: Blistering heatwave swept across Odisha on Saturday with Titlagarh recording a maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius, the day’s highest in the state, an official said.
Several other places recorded temperatures above 40 degree Celsius. Jharsuguda (43.0), Sambalpur (42.7) Sundargarh (42.0), Hirakud (42.0), Bhawanipatna (42.6), Bolangir (43.5), Phulbani (41.6), Sonepur (43.2), Chandbali (40.7), Angul (42.7), Keonjhar (40.3), Talcher (43.3), and Malkangiri (42.5).
People mostly preferred to remain indoors to escape the scorching heat.
The heatwave conditions is likely to prevail in several parts of the state for the next few days.
