Heatwave: Sambalpur Hottest at 44.7 Degree


Bhubaneswar: The State continued to be gripped by intense heatwave conditions with mercury hovering above 40 degree Celsius at 12 places on Tuesday.

Sambalpur was hottest recording maximum day temperature of 44.7 degree. Bolangir was the second hottest place in the state with 44.5 degree Celsius.

The other places which breached the 40 level mark include Titlagarh (44), Hirakud (43.7), Jharsuguda (43.6), Bhawanipatna (42.6), Sundargarh (42), Malkangiri (42) Angul (41.7), Talcher (41.2) and Keonjhar (40).

The IMD has predicted that heat wave conditions would continue to prevail for the next couple of days in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Subarnapur, Bargarh, Balangir and Nuapada.
