Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today presented a Rs 1,39,000 crore budget for 2019-20 in the State Assembly.
In the 2019-20 budget, the highest resource allocation of Rs 20,714 crore is witnessed in agriculture and allied sector. This was followed by Rs 18,419 crore for Panchayati Raj and Rs 16,400 crore for School and Mass Education Department.
Of the total expenditure of Rs 20,714 crore in the Agriculture Budget, the Finance Minister allocated Rs 5611 crore for the KALIA scheme, Rs 146 crore for modernisation of old irrigation projects, Rs 100 crore for Gangadhar Meher Lift Canal System, Rs 1777 crore for Parvati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme, Rs 334 crore for Mukya Mantri Adibandha Tiyari Yojana and Rs 800 crore for interest subsidy/subvention on crop loan.
A sum of Rs 1,203 crore has been allocated for the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) for 2019-20, Rs 1,365 crore for the National Health Mission and Rs 578 crore for the Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Seva Mission.
