Bhubaneswar: Eminent artistes as well as young talents of the state are rendering some of the most celebrated songs dedicated to Lord Jagannath at a three-day musical concert ‘Guhari’, that commenced at Rabindra Mandap, here on Monday.
The event is being hosted in the city by the state culture department through Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre.
The inaugural evening saw renditions by well-known artistes including Shantilata Chhotray among many other young singers. They performed many songs that are famous since ancient times. The audience that comprised mostly of Lord Jagannath devotees appreciated the performance and found themselves lost in devotion.
Many instrumentalists will also perform during the event as accompanists as well as for instrumental renditions of various devotional songs.
The event is a part of the state culture department’s multiple programmes to promote and celebrate Rath Yatra.
