Bhubaneswar: The Teachers’ Day has been celebrated here in the premises of BJEM School with lots of reverence and enthusiasm. A special assembly was conducted to acknowledge the sincere hard work and endless contribution of teachers to a student’s educational life and to commemorate the 131st birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan, the great academic philosopher, and a renowned teacher. The celebration began on a traditional note with sloka chanting followed by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. Radhakrishnan. The Principal, Ms. Sandhya Jena enlightened the gathering with her blissful words on the priceless contribution of teachers to nation-building. The Vice-Principal, Mrs. Pallabi Mohapatra also viewed that teachers transform lives of children into meaningful existence. The student speakers also acknowledged the fact that gurus/mentors guide them to become better human beings. A small get together of teachers was also held to let them feel their values and importance in building a society of ethics and prosperity. The gathering was graced by the august presence of Prof. (Dr.) Sanghamitra Mishra, who shared how a good teacher inspires hope, ignites imagination and instills love for learning. The school conferred Dr. Mishra with GURU SAMMAN Award for her selfless devotion and dedication towards teaching as a profession.
In the end, the scintillating songs, dance, and skits exhibited by students, highlighting the value and contribution of teachers, enthralled the audience a lot. The programme was also attended by the Chairman, Sri Raghunath Mishra, Manager, Mr. P. K. Jena, Addl. Manager, Mr. C. R. Bairisal and other hon’ble members of the SMC. The celebration ended on a thankful note to all for making the event a grand success.
