Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) launched a new school named Xavier School of Human Settlements, which will offer postgraduate programs in urban management and governance as well as doctoral programs in urban planning and management.
The school will focus on developing and transferring knowledge about building sustainable, livable and inclusive cities and communities. It aims in building the professional capabilities of the state, civil society and corporate initiatives and organizations engaged in working towards progressive socio-economic change.
Prof. Kajri Misra, dean of the school, said the school will conduct a symposium in November in partnership with UN Habitat on ‘Urban Thinkers’ Campus’.
Thereafter, the website of the school was launched by Dr. Fr. E.A Augustine, S.J (Registrar, XUB). The students showed a video “the road travelled” featuring starting of the school from a centre.
