Bhubaneswar: The department of Odia Language Literature & Culture in association with Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi hosted a two-day festival dedicated to western Odisha’s dance and music at Bhanjakala Mandap, here on Friday.

The fest, Rangabati, named after the famous Sambalpuri song, created an ambience of the grand festivities typical of the districts of western Odisha.

The evening began with Sambalpuri music by Dukhishyam Tripathy and Group from Bolangir.

This was followed by Sambalpuri dance by Abhaya Art Academy from Kuchinda, Sambalpur.

The concluding programme of the inaugural evening was by Brundaban Cultural Organization, Kesinga, Bhawanipatna, who performed Bajasal.
