Bhubaneswar: Bali Yatra, the historic fair of Cuttack is slated to begin from November 12. The fair shall continue till November 19.

According to sources, this year the administration is planning to issue identity cards to every traders participating in the fair.

The annual fair every year has stalls from pottery, ethnic, jewellery, costly metals, handicraft, stone carving, wood carving, pattachitra, appliqué and terracotta and local spices to house hold products and electronic gadgets and has several attractions for children, and food stalls selling Odia delicacies (Cuttacki Dahivada Aloo dum, Thunka Puri etc).

Biodegradable carry bags will replace polythene packages to make Bali yatra a plastic-free zone.

The entire ground would be monitored by close-circuit television cameras, that would help maintain law and order and security of the revellers.

Apart from this, the district cultural society has also made arrangements to organise cultural programmes every night at the fairground, sources said.
