Bhubaneswar: Incessant rain triggered by a low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has thrown life out of gear in several parts of Odisha from Wednesday.

The India Meteorology Department (IMD) has forecasted that under the impact of the low pressure, light to moderate rain will lash most parts of Odisha till Saturday. The IMD has issued an orange warning in the districts of Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri and yellow warning for heavy rainfall in the districts of Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sundergarh, Kendrapada and Bhadrak.

IMD has predicted that a squally weather condition with gusty surface winds of up to 50 kmph velocity is likely to prevail along and off the south Odisha coast and has advised the fishermen not to venture into the sea till Thursday.
