Bhubaneswar: Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB), for the first time, is organizing TEDxXUB, where x = independently organized TED event on October 26, 2019.

The event will witness participation of various stakeholders of the Xavier fraternity, including students from the diverse schools operating under XUB.

The theme for the event is “Mind and Matter”. It focuses on how the internal and external forces blend to shape one’s life. “Mind” talks about identifying and confronting the internal factors, while “Matter” focuses on the external factors. Mental health, which is relevant for every individual, is often influenced by these factors.

Mental health refers to our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, and is influenced by how we interact and react to our environment. Addressing it is the need of the hour, especially in a B-school, where it is common for mental health issues to manifest. There are two perspectives through which it will be addressed – “Mind over Matter” and “Matter over Mind”.

The topics that will be covered under Mind over Matter are “Navigating Conflict Inside to Build Peace on the Outside” and “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder”. The topics that will be covered under Matter over Mind are “Rewilding the Human Body” and “Understanding and Creating One’s True Self in the Contemporary World”.

The event will host four esteemed speakers who will be discussing on the topics.
