Bhubaneswar: International sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a sand sculptor on the golden sea beach of Puri on the eve of the festival of light Deepavali and Kali Puja.

As the goddess Kali had saved the world from the demons of atrocities by bringing the world to light from darkness, in the same way goddess Kali has descended in the art made of sand by international sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo, with a prayer to rescue the world from evils and atrocities, for the protection of our nation and for the destruction of evil from our society. The artist has also prayed that on this occasion of holy Deepavali the whole world to get illumined and filled with peace and prosperity. The artist also appeals everyone to celebrate the occasion by lightning a candle only without polluting the atmosphere by bursting crackers. In the sand art the message given is “not cracker but bring smile in people’s face”. “Say no to crackers”.

This sand art is of 15ft in width, and some 10 tonnes of sand is used to make it. It took Mr. Sahoo nearly three hours to create it.
