Bhubaneswar: Onion has become dearer as the price across Odisha has gone up to Rs 100 per kg, as per reports.

After hovering around Rs 50 to 60 per kg for quite some time, onion prices skyrocketed to Rs 80 in last few days and subsequently hit as high as Rs 100 per kg on Sunday, forcing people to cut down on their onion consumption.

Experts and traders have said that the price crisis of onions will continue to hit the market as Odisha is largely dependent on Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh for onion and the inclement weather in these states have affected the onion harvest.
