Bhubaneswar: The witness breeze from the Sea and the magic of Kuchipudi and Odissi created an ambiance of celebration filled with rhythmic beats and melodious
tunes. The fourth evening of Konark Festival witnessed recitals in Kuchipudi and
dance drama in Odissi.
Renowned dancing couples-Raja and Radha Reddy came up with their
powerful choreography Bharata Bharatim depicting the entire conceptual being of
Bharat Mata the holy motherland. India’s commitment to the lofty ideals of Truth,
Peace and Non-Violence, added with tolerance and Universal acceptance found
and enchanting delineation in the choreography which upheld the essence of
Indian art and culture.
The second recital was Odissi Dance Drama- Prahallad by Guru Gajendra
Panda and the artistes of Tridhara. Based on the popular folk dance of Ganjam
district in Odissi, the choreography was specially tuned in classical tradition. The
in the Dance Drama depicted the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Lord Narasimha, the man-lion emerging to kill the demon king, Hiranyakashipu saving his
beloved devotee, Prahallad.
