Bhubaneswar: The 4th edition of Kalinga Global Film Festival (KGFF) was inaugurated on 18th January 2020. KIIT School of Film and Media Sciences is the organizer of the festival. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Tusharkanti Behera, Minister, Sports & Youth Service, Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of Odisha; Anubhav Mohanty, MP, Lok Sabha; Satyabrata Tripathy, Chairman Odisha Film Development Corporation; Bijay Kumar Nayak, Director, Culture Department, Govt. of Odisha; Prof. Pankaj Saxena, Professor of Screen Studies and Research FTII, Pune; Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and Himanshu Khatua, CEO, KIIT School of Film & Media Sciences.
KGFF are presenting a selection of feature films, short films and documentaries from all over Asia and screening of more than 15 films in Asian Window section. The selection of competitive students’ short films has been made out of 50 films submitted. Delegates and critics from the country and abroad have participated in the festival. Besides this, there will be three-panel discussions on Film Society Movement, Film Appreciation and Critical Analysis, and Film Education.
All awards will be presented at the closing ceremony of the festival and all films screened under the competitive category as the official selection process are only eligible for completion. All the winners will get a KGFF trophy, Cash Prize and certificate of excellence as award. The best film will be awarded Rs. 1.00 lakh.
