Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government circulated advisory to all religious institutions such as temples, mosques, churches, and gurdwaras within Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation jurisdiction to strictly adhere to social distancing and coronavirus prevention norms and to restrict the entry of devotees with effect from March 20 and up to April 1st.
Despite closure for the general public, only priests and sevayats will be allowed to enter the premises so as to carry out the rituals as usual. It is said that gatherings at places like temples, mosques, churches, and gurdwaras can significantly increase the risk of spreading the virus.
Religious institutions have taken a hit in for a long period now due to the lockdown. The number of visitors has significantly reduced.
