Bhubaneswar: On Thursday one more has been tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha. As per the report, again out of 14 samples tested at RMRC Bhubaneswar, one came out positive. The H&FW Department of Odisha had tweeted about the second COVID-19 positive case in the state.
The second Coronavirus infected person is a native of Bhubaneswar and had recently returned from the UK. However, the state surveillance unit initiated contact tracing to trace those persons who have come in contact with.
Earlier on March 15, a 33-year-old youth was found positive with a travel history to Italy and is undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. After he was tested positive, the state surveillance unit initiated contact tracing and reported that 129 persons came in contact with him during his arrival to Odisha. Anyhow, no updates revealed yet confirming whether any of them is infected. COVID-19 Helpline number and registration portal is available and is mandatory for all to register for home quarantine, whoever comes back to Odisha from foreign countries. As per a report, so far 2,626 people from all over Odisha, who have returned from abroad, have registered for home quarantine. To check the spread of the Coronavirus, the State government had announced that all religious places and historical monuments in the state will be closed to the public with immediate effect. Only servitors will be allowed to perform daily rituals. Social distancing will be given a high priority.
